A flexible location for filming and photography
The main Castle is Grade 1 listed and the building boasts a range of architectural styles, from Norman towers and guard rooms to the 16th century kitchen. Particularly notable are the beautiful Georgian rococo interiors in many rooms, these are unique to Wales. As the house is still a family home, the original collections of art, china furniture and books spanning five centuries of history are still in place to give a truly authentic feel
We can offer film crew exclusive use, with full access to all the spaces in the castle: from the cellar right through to the atmospheric attics, via the private family quarters with flexible arrangements for furniture and accessories where required. A Grade 2 listed Georgian stable block can also be adapted for a variety of uses
As well as the rich interior of the main building we are able to offer direct access to the stunning lawns, walled gardens, orchards and flower borders that immediately surround the Castle. In addition to the three acres of gardens are the Grade II listed Georgian stable block, folly tower and a wooded valley beneath the house all available for use. There is ample parking for a full crew, plus water and a 100 amp electricity supply adjacent.
Further out from the Castle are 700 acres of woodland and farmland with a range of historical outbuildings, including the derelict nineteenth century coastal lime works at Aberthaw, providing a large range of options for film and photographic work
The Castle and other parts of the Estate have successfully featured in a number productions of many different types. As a result the family and staff are well versed in the requirements for filming and can facilitate a trouble free shoot.
